Niagara Falls Riverway Boulders
Niagara Falls, New York

At Niagara Falls State Park, the Riverway area project uncovered natural limestone boulders during the demolition of a 1960s highway and bridge. Boulders are needed for the new pond, and these native large, angular limestone boulders are perfect for the on-site details. As part of the Hatch Mott McDonald team Heritage Landscapes developed the pond details and is selecting the boulders for placement at the Olmsted style beaches.

During demolition of a 1960s highway, natural limestone boulders were discovered for use in the Riverway project.

Contractor photographs identified available boulder sizes and shapes.

Boulders stabilize pond edges at these water access points.
